What to Expect at BFBC
First-time guests often have lots of great questions. Here are answers to a few of the most popular ones.
Where Should I Park?
During our Growing Forward renovations, the best location to park will be in the large parking lot off of Cherokee. Please use the crosswalk with stoplight to safely cross the street to the entrance with the big black awning. A drop off/pick up lane is also available at that entrance on Sunday mornings for anyone who needs assistance.
How Should I Dress?
Our church welcomes guests from all different walks of life. Just be comfortable and tasteful, whether in jeans and a T-shirt, or a suit or dress.
Where Should I Take My Children?
Our preschool ministry (6 weeks-preschool), Children's Ministry (K-6) and Young & Free Student Ministry all have dedicated space to welcome your children. Signs are posted all over campus to guide you to each location, but during our Growing Forward renovation project, please feel free to ask a member of our Hospitality Team, stationed at the Cherokee entrance (where the black awning is located), for assistance finding each location.
Where Do I Sit in the Worship Center?
There are no assigned seats, so sit where you like. At each entrance, you'll be welcomed by greeters who would be happy to help you find a seat. Our large screen that displays announcements, song lyrics and videos can been seen from anywhere in the worship center.
What's being done in response to COVID-19?
We are following CDC and local guidelines to keep everyone as safe as possible. High traffic areas are regularly cleaned, hand sanitizer is available and social distancing is encouraged. We have also taken additional precautions to reduce possible transmission: beverage service is suspended, the paper bulletin has been replaced by the BFBC app, and offerings are taken at the door or through online giving. Services are also available via livestream and in our mobile app for our high risk members and guests. Download the BFBC mobile app from the app store or by texting "myBFBCapp" to 77977.
What If I Have Hearing Issues?
Hearing amplification headphones are available in both worship services for anyone to use. Please ask an usher if you don't see them on the table near the entrance to the East Sanctuary. Sign language translation is also available in the 8:30 a.m. service.
What's the Music Like?
We love to worship God and we know that everyone has different tastes in music. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where everyone can worship together. First Baptist has two worship options: The 8:30 a.m. service features a choir and orchestra and is more traditional. The 11:00 a.m. service offers more contemporary music led by the band and worship team. No matter the style of worship, all our members have the same heart to share the love of Jesus with others.
Is the Preaching the Same in Both Services?
Both services feature the same biblically-based message which can also be watched live (or later) from our website.
How Long Does the Service Last?
Each service lasts about one hour total.
How Can I Get Connected?
We have groups by age and gender, life stage, for encouragement, for moms, for the recovering, for discipleship, for service and so much more. Please check out the opportunities for deeper connection and spiritual growth under the Small Groups tab in the header.
What Are the People at BFBC Like?
We're a multi-generational-all-walks-of-life people united by the hope and faith we have in Jesus Christ. We strive to be passionate, obedient followers of Christ and we like to have fun, too!
