The Multigenerational Choir prepares and leads in worship on Sunday mornings and on special seasonal events such as Easter, Christmas, and God and Country Celebration. The choir meets in the choir room from 6-7:15 on Wednesday evenings. Child care is provided. Music is provided for rehearsal and listening examples are available on the church website under choir links. The choir rehearses in final preparation for worship on Sunday mornings in the Worship Center at 8:15 a.m. (prior to the 9:15 Sunday School), and then leads in the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service.
Worship Band & Praise Team
The worship band and praise team rehearse on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. in the Worship Center. Members of this group must meet certain qualifications to lead in this ministry. The worship band is made up of the rhythm section: rhythm guitar, lead/electric guitar, bass guitar, and keys/piano/synthesizer and drums. The Vocal Praise Team (usually 3-4 singers) participate in a rotation schedule that draws from several singers that comprise the Praise Team Vocal Ensemble.
The worship band and praise team have a final run through on Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m.
BFBC Orchestra contributes to our Sunday morning worship time and accompanies the choir on major presentations throughout the year. The orchestra (auditions required), meets on Sunday mornings at 8:15 a.m. to practice with the worship band, choir, and praise team. Music is provided in advance so that orchestra members are able to know their music well before the Sunday practice. Extra rehearsals are scheduled on occasion, especially when special projects such as seasonal presentations are scheduled.
Joyful Strings is a Community Outreach Music Ministry of BFBC that includes workshops and rehearsals for instruments such as mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, mandolin, violin, ukulele and guitar; for Adults and Youth on every Wednesday starting at 1:30 pm in the South Chapel. Opportunities to serve on a GO-Team (Gospel Outreach) with your instrument are available during the year and include several large events with the Joyful Strings Folk Orchestra (all instruments). Commitments are needed in order to help make each outreach event a success!
